Blues


Blues are a large hen with an egg production of approx. 240 brown eggs a year. They have very subtle darker lacing. Their neck feathers being generally darker, occasionally with a tinge of red. They also have grey legs. A lovely gentle hen, with the potential of a long life.

  3. Average body weight at 20 weeks: 1.900 kg

  4. Average body weight at 72 weeks: 2.500 kg to 2.600 kg

  5. Age at peak of laying period: 26 weeks

  6. Hen housed performance at 72 weeks: up to 260 eggs

  7. Peak of production: 90 % and more

  8. Monthly mortality: 0.3 to 0.5 %

  9. Average egg weight: 63 g

  10. Egg shell colour: brown
