The Barred Rock is a reverse cross of the Rhode Rock, giving a bird of attractive appearance and the same attributes of friendly, reliability and toughness.


  1. A hybrid breed of Barred Plymouth Rock and Rhode Island Red

  3. Average body weight at 20 weeks: 1.600 kg

  4. Average body weight at 80 weeks: 2.200 kg

  5. Age at start of laying period: 21 weeks

  6. Age at peak of laying period: 25 weeks

  7. Peak of production: 94 %

  8. Production at the age of 80 weeks: 325 eggs/bird

  9. Average feed consumption 116-120g per day

  10. Monthly mortality: 0.3 to 0.5 %

  11. Egg shell colour: brown
